Matcha Green Tea was popularised in Japan, where it is traditionally drunk out of bowls in spiritual ceremonies. The tea is made up of a blend of several different leaves, to create a blend which when added to water, creates an emerald green hue.

The History

The concept of powdered tea originated in China over 1000 years ago, and was eventually spread over to Japan by monks. Matcha Tea eventually became part of many spiritual rituals, and was enjoyed particularly by monks and the upper classes.
